Coralie Damay, new Director of Programs at ISC Paris

Coralie Damay graduated from Université Paris Dauphine with a DEA in marketing and strategy in 2003, and went on to earn a PhD in marketing from HEC Paris, which she completed in 2008.
In 2013, she obtained a habilitation to direct research from the Université de Caen Normandie. Always on the lookout for new knowledge, she trained in Collective Intelligence at CY Cergy Paris Université in 2021-2022, devoting her dissertation to learning assessments.

Passionate about management, responsible consumption, children’s and teenagers’ behavior and education, Coralie Damay has taught marketing at several institutions, including HEC, ESCP and Rouen Business School.

In 2011, she joined ISC Paris, where she continues to train students while developing innovative educational projects. In fact, she took over as head of the research lab in November 2017 and became director of the Action Learning Lab in 2021.

A strong commitment to active learning

Coralie Damay, as a teacher and as director of the Action Learning Lab, encourages students on a daily basis to take an active role in their learning, by advocating active pedagogy. She gives them the opportunity to learn in a different way, and makes them aware of the importance of daily commitment.

The Action Learning Lab, under her direction, has actively worked to better understand learning mechanisms and ensure that current pedagogical knowledge can help as many people as possible to optimize the way they learn and pass on knowledge. In particular, she created the “Fresque de l’Apprendre” at ISC Paris, a collaborative, playful and reflective workshop enabling learners and trainers to reflect on their learning postures and practices. She has participated in the development of the “Habilitation à Diriger la Pédagogie” and is also involved in the highlights of the school year: the Festival of Learning, Impact Week and Happiness Week.

In parallel with her work at ISC Paris, Coralie Damay is a member of the association Le Sens de l’École, which offers workshops to foster commitment, a developing mindset and a sense of belonging among children.

A new mission: Program Director

This July 2024, Coralie Damay succeeds Benoît Lorel as Director of Programs, a position he has held since 2021. “This appointment means a great deal to me, as it is recognition of my commitment over the past 10 years to this school, which I am particularly fond of, and which has always allowed me to be daring in a framework of trust,” explains Coralie Damay. “I’ve had the opportunity to evolve according to the needs of the institution, but also to my own desires, which has given me the chance to rub shoulders with many fine people. My previous missions have enabled me to work with various departments at our school, each participating in its own dynamic in line with our ‘raison d’être’: to pass on to everyone a taste for commitment, so as to contribute to building a happy world.”

She will focus on enhancing the attractiveness and differentiation of ISC Paris programs. “I’d like to bring my experience to the program management team, reinforcing the student experience in a cross-disciplinary dimension, making them actors in their own learning and helping them develop the knowledge and skills they need to meet the societal, ecological and digital challenges they face,” she adds.

Jean-Christophe Hauguel, Dean of ISC Paris, is delighted to see one of the school’s driving forces take over the direction of the programs. “The choice to appoint Coralie Damay to the strategic position of Director of Programs at ISC Paris seemed an obvious one. She has a perfect understanding of the teams and the school’s pedagogical DNA, which she herself has helped to develop over many years. As a teacher-researcher, Director of Research and Director of the Action Learning Lab, she has always been an enthusiastic and creative driving force in the academic management of ISC Paris. There’s no doubt that she will have a strong impact on the evolution of the school’s programs, to the benefit of our students and partners alike”.
